About Me

"The purpose of psychotherapy is to set people free."

Rollo May

Katie Benoit, LPC

After growing up in DFW, I  decided to move to Boston for graduate school. I graduated with my M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from the Boston University School of Medicine, Division of Graduate Medical Sciences in 2019. I lived in Boston for four years, both earning my degree (two years) and working as a counselor (two years). There, I gained experience working at Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center of Boston, Dothouse Community Health Center, and The Addiction Treatment Center of New England. I have since moved back to DFW and have been working here in private practice since 2022.

I love working with perfectionists, over achievers, eldest daughters, and ADHD tangential thinkers. I love working with the outsiders, the misfits, the over thinkers, the ones who are tired of handling everything on their own and tired of the pressure to be everything for everyone. I'm passionate about supporting clients in living more meaningful, authentic, and fulfilling lives, focused on what really matters to them. As a therapist with ADHD, I know what it means to think differently and to feel differently. My goal is to offer a space where you feel understood and accepted, without having to prove yourself, perform, or  justify your struggles.
